Eliza Osmer married Lewis Calhoon 4/2/1840, in Trumbull Co. OH, per marriage record from the Trumbull Co. Probate Court. They had 5 children in Trumbull Co. and 1 in Darke Co, OH during the period 1 June 1842 and 9 Apr 1851. (Eliza had a sister, Harriett, who married Joseph Steele, and a brother Alonzo, my g-grandfather.)At this point I lose track of Eliza, but Lewis and Priscilla Starnes have 3 children in Sullivan Co.MO from 1864 to 26 June 1869. According to an obit in the Milan, MO Standard, Lewis Calhoon, 14Feb 1816 - 24 Sep 1891 was buried At Bairdstown Cemetery, Sullivan County, MO with no further sign of Eliza.Stephen Hosmer apparently so infuriated his first wife and 3 or 4 children that they dropped the "H" and became Osmers. However it is a very slim chance that the descendants of Stephen's 3 children wouldhave any information because they were all less than 5 years old when Stephen skipped.
