This was a town bulletin board where residents could post messages of interest. On the right of the picture was a town pump where residents could obtain water. Elbert Hickox farmhouse
This is the Elbert Hickox farmhouse that was located on Rt. 88 between W. Farmington and Bristolville on the right side of the road just past where the new turtle crossing is presently located. It was sold to the State of Ohio in 1958 and became part of the Grand River Wildlife Preserve. The buildings were torn down, and Mrs. Hickox moved to the village. Hitchcock & Latimer Funeral Home
This is a picture of the Hitchcock & Latimer Funeral located on Third St. I'm not sure who the young boys are, but could be the Latimer boys. I would guess it was taken in the late 1930's or early 1940's. It later became the Carpenter Funeral Home. It was built in the late 1800's by Elisha Webster. For a while it was the Star Hotel. Amos Gillette / Moss / Molden / Onea home
This home is on the top of the hill on South Third St. or Girdle Road next to Grand River, West Farmington. It dates back to 1874 and was owned by Amos Gillette. More recent families that have lived there were the Moss family, Molden family and the Onea family.

Hawkins / Hillier / Westfall home
A family by the name of Hawkins lived in this home on Third St. in 1908. Children in picture are their children. Later owners were my husband's parents, Robert and Emily Hillier. Main Street / College Street West Farmington
This was called Main St. in this photo. Later it was changed to College St. It shows what is now the K of P Hall, a furnace shop, and a home. The small home was a funeral home owned by Bill Hitchcock in this photo. The building next to it was a furniture store at one time. The funeral home also stored caskets in it. Masonic Hall, West Farmington
This is a picture of the Old Masonic Hall on the left, and the grocery store on College Street. The store was built originally by John Goodwin in 1897 for a pool room. In May 1898 Mr. and Mrs. Robert Christy rented the store first for an ice cream parlor and later stocked it with groceries. In March, 1900, Mr. Christy sold the inventory to R. U. Norton who had the second addition to the store built by Edward Ely. Mr. Norton sold the store to C. C. Creaser in 1912. Carl Creaser was the owner when this photo was taken. Later owners were the Garfields, Fosters, Holts, and Blands. Elton and Pauline Blane owned it from 1954 to 1984. There have been various owners and businesses since, and it is now vacant (2009). West Farmington Post Office
The West Farmington Post Office occupied this building on Second Street in the early 1900s. Many businesses have been in this building including a dress shop and restaurant in the 1950s and 1960s.
